Director

Peter Blackmore

Peter joined the Sedgwick Group plc in 1984 as a Graduate trainee within the Financial Institutions Division and subsequently became an Assistant Director. Peter left to join Special Risk Services Limited as a Senior Broker and Shareholder. He played a significant role in the development of SRS as a new Lloyd's broker serving the Financial Sector. As Vice President of Special Risks Service Inc. Peter established their North American subsidiary and held a New York State Insurance license. Following his return to London to work with Willis Corroon Limited, he joined Andrew Wallas & Marsh Limited as Managing Director of their specialist Financial Institution subsidiary, prior to starting Blackmore Borley Limited with the late Roger Borley.

General Manager

Chris Smith

Chris joined BBL in March 2002 working within the subsidiary Randell Dorling Limited (RDL). In September 2007 his responsibilities were expanded to this general management role which means that in addition to running RDL, Chris carries responsibility for Information Technology, Compliance and the general office environment for BBL. Prior to this Chris spent 10 years as a Management Consultant working both as a change and interim manager in IT and Commercial ventures following a career in both clearing and international banking, encompassing on and off balance sheet and project financing and money transmission and treasury management advice predominantly within what is now the LloydsTSB Group.

Adam Burton

Adam joined Blackmore Borley in February 2006 after 11½ years with Heath Lambert. In his time with Heaths, Adam has worked on both their retail and wholesale books, as well as their RIBA Insurance Agency. Adam has an extensive knowledge of Insurance Intermediaries and IFA's. Adam is responsible for the running and growth of the Non-FI Business Team.

Adam Knight

Adam joined Blackmore Borley in January 2006 to work on Financial Lines Business with Peter Blackmore. Adam was a Bloodstock Broker for 20 years, he decided a change was needed and left the market to read law. It was at this time that he discovered a gap in the FI market and compiled a business plan that he presented to Insurers. He was recommended to Blackmore Borley who were very pleased to have him aboard.

Ira Gelormino

Ira joined Randell Dorling Limited, a subsidiary of Blackmore Borley Limited in March 2004 working on the PCG Scheme with co-founder, Roger Borley.  A native of Sydney and a Fine Arts Graduate, she started working for the Insurance Industry with HIH Insurance in 1999. She moved to the Broking side in 2000 and most recently worked with Marsh Sydney. She worked within their Global Division for 3 years on a portfolio of US and European clients, before arriving in London in 2004. From April 2006, Ira has been running the FSA Regulatory Insurance Scheme with Rebecca Brown and also works with Peter Blackmore and Adam Knight within the Financial Lines Business team.
